When we get a chance to have stones these rare together – in one sitting – we must take many photos. Not unlike supermodels.
Looking at the stones through the camera lens offers not just a color perspective but a calming one.
These stones display chatoyancy (cat’s eye) and asterism (star). They are high quality examples because they do not require direct light to display their character… of course having the right color to begin with.
The cat’s eye alexandrite displays a bonus phenomena: colour change!
All four need only have subtle light to show up for exactly what each is 🙂
When there is focused light, it is downright amazing how this is just the nonchalance of Nature, and we humans are but pollinators.
