This vivid rhodochrosite is not a crystal but gem grade.
It is a single piece hand cut by our lapidarist. We seldom get this mineral in this gemmy quality.
The bright red striation that you see is actually completely transparent. Cradled in its grapefruit color, this triangular slice displays as if the red distinguishes the stone in two parts.
Part translucent and part transparent, this rhodochrosite is a glowing gem that is not opaque like the typical specimen.
There are few gems that look like this (also why the padparadscha is so coveted), however big the gem world!
Already brilliant, this stone will be luxurious when diamonds surround.
The gem measures 12.9 x 12.46 x 8.02 mm.
