Description
6.05ct unheated African ruby in an oval cut.
This natural ruby is very clean and super fiery, its color rivals the color of old Burmese rubies.
This is because any way you see it, the ruby is red. Not reddish, just red.
The report specifies not red, but ‘Vivid red’. This grading is important as it is an unequivocal recognition of its ‘Pigeon Blood’ red color through this gem lab.
The ruby is uniformly red, its amazing lustre has internal fire with or without surrounding light, and a cut that is spread big.
Because it is a clean and vivid stone, there is no need to cut this stone with too much depth for lustre. Carat weight is hence spread out on its surface; the stone appears very big for a 6ct stone.
The ruby measures 12.59mm by 9.38mm by 5.73mm.
In natural light, the color is insistent and consistently rich and never paler, with a moistness to its hue.
When in low light, the ruby displays a bold deep red that is never dark.
Rarely now do we come across a perfect ruby, in a carat size above 5 carats. Many recent Burmese rubies pale in color and lustre, so this a memorable find.
