Description

7.2ct natural orange tourmaline with an intense and unique color.

The color of this Nigerian tourmaline is reminiscent of an intense orange sapphire, though the latter is almost impossible to find in natural, unheated state.

Its hue is redder than spessartite, a distinct reddish orange not readily found even if tourmalines come in the widest variety of colors.

In low light, the stone gets redder, like lava. In bright natural light, the gem is a perfect orange color.

The stone is photographed amongst various orange hue gems to provide a context of its unique orange.

Clean, fiery and with great lustre, this is an exemplar tourmaline specimen.

The stone measures 11.08mm x 14.15mm x 6.57mm.
