87.4ct collector sphalerite in an oval cut.

The stone displays wth hues of orange, yellow, brown and red, with yellow rolling at the centre.

We note that in low light, this sphalerite displays as if reddish orange, its yellow subdued, a color very much like lava.

The stone has a great lustre and medium color, nowhere pale/dark or dull in any segment of its large size. It retains its lustre, firing consistently whether against a bright or black background.

With a hardness of only 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale, sphalerite may be better set in a pendant than a ring.

The stone measures 27.3 x 20.9 x17.6 mm.
