Antique Glass Necklace

An unusual project for us using glass cut from at least 80 years back.

The tubular cones resemble amethyst, but the glass feels simpler (than stone) in a way things produced in the early manufacturing period tend to be.

The smoky deep purple is allied with white and orange. The white is jadeite; the orange is red jadeite, carnelian and agate.

All stones are natural and untreated.

The antique Czech glass are given a stony presence when paired with actual stones; the jadeite is modern, the carnelian and agate are old with an ‘ancient’ beauty.

Bohemian and byzantine feels trek through both; the pair is designed to be worn together.

The outer (longer) is lithe and organized; the shorter choker length necklace is where all the color and material gypsy.

Both necklaces have as their finery 24k gold balls, our way to underlie spontaneity with a stoic warmth.

The necklaces are 17″ and 15″ long, with an aura better than MOMA replicas!
