Description
Unheated Blue Sapphire Ring
Fine sapphire ring set with a 15.81ct unheated blue sapphire and accented with diamonds in 22k and platinum.
The natural Sri Lankan sapphire is light blue.
The stone is very visual, not all sapphires light in saturation display its tone brightly.
Like an old cut stone, this sapphire is uniquely cut, the oval is drawn out with a long table over substantial depth.
For this reason, the sapphire is set tall, or ‘Orient’, with long platinum prongs.
Through these formal prongs, light enters the stone and reaches the very bed of the stone.
Its light blue hue also takes on a tonal range through its fire.
Photos show the tonal display with indoors lighting and natural light.
The depth fires the stone, while its prongs hold up the stone so you can see this display immensely.
The ring is platinum top while the high karat gold mount contrasts against its cool stones.
Contoured and carved, the back of the ring cradles its stone.
If it is not obvious in these photos, this halo ring is beautiful by its longitudinal form.
A modern design is seldom built this way, there is much craftsmanship in its gold work and proportion.
Imagined up from the stone foremost, there is only one modernist ‘Nizam’ ring like this.
The ring’s face measures 20mm by 14mm.
