Pear Diamond Earrings

Fine diamond earrings set with natural diamonds and pink sapphires in 18k and platinum.

One diamond is fancy color (2.51ct), the other is near white (3.01ct).

Both diamonds when designed together do not require symmetry, whether tone or size.

The Möbius is a non-orientable surface that can be formed by attaching the ends of a strip of paper together with a half-twist.

The accent sapphires are set on the strip – before one end twists and the other end merges into the main.

The back returns to plain contour, with the upper contact forged in platinum for hypoallergic care.

Centering the pears in the Möbius loop is a literal ‘fitting’ gesture – we get a ear ornament that is half stud, half drop.

Channel setting stones with graduation in size and tone is bespoke that looks simple.

Avoiding a halo is a many splendored thing – it forces one to think.

This ‘two-dimensional’ Möbius may have the loveliest contours, but on the ear the pears capture in an airy dance.
