Natural Burmese RED Spinel Ruby Loose Gems
Two natural, unheated, untreated Burmese red spinels for sale, 2.10ct and 2.64ct.
The 2.10ct is a rectangle shape, while the 2.64 is a fan shape. These older spinels (older cut) are not traditionally cut as ‘fancy’ or ‘tear drop’ etc, but rather, the stones are cut to shape.
For this reason if you are looking for an interesting spinel, this lot is worth considering.
These are Bumese spinels, of good fire, and a red color so ruby-like. These are the grade of Burmese red spinels when it is difficult to tell a spinel from a ruby by sight.
Spinels are desired for their wonderful spectrum of colors and for generally having great fire.
Those that approximate ruby or padparadscha colors fetch more in the gem market but it is hardly the only thing to consider. Because spinels are still not crazily priced (like rubies), you can get them in more interesting (uncommon) shapes or cuts.
Google ‘Balas Ruby’ to read more about this mis-valued gem.
In this 5-stone spinel lot (see other listings for others in the lot), we have two stones that look particularly like rubies, and one stone that looks particularly like a padparadscha. Guess!
If you need ideas how to set these gems, please get in touch.
We don’t have to make it for you, but it really helps when gemstone sourcing online to know what designs you have in mind. Some gems ask for it, others lesser so 🙂
For international customers, please get in touch with us if you can’t find anyone locally to fix it. Send the item back and we will fix it for you. We may or may not charge a service fee for repair work; this depends on how much work there is to be done. We offer this service hardly to make money. We offer this service because of the nature of work that we do. Many pieces of antique jewellery are not serviced properly in modern jewellery stores (unless you have a personal relationship with the store owners). What we do for our local customers, we offer to our international customers. We hope this is our added advantage. We only charge when we upsize rings by two sizes and above. We charge approximately SGD70 (USD50) for upsizing, but may increase this fee by a little depending on the ring size and complexity of the job. Much of period-authentic Chinese jewellery can be collected, and passed on as a set. Two or more pieces will easily exceed SGD10,000. We offer this as we too are always excited when we can acquire jewellery a whole set. And we think you may too. Please us for details. If your order is below SGD1500, we charge SGD50 for this service. You will be able to pay for your order on the spot. Cash or card. We’ve delivered many items to many places, from the back alleys of Geylang to hotels to the airport. We think this is a convenience you ought to enjoy while you’re on this spicy island. DHL Express delivers packages in 2 days. Delivery times are estimated to the best of our knowledge. There may be delays due to busy seasonal periods or customs processing. We may consider exchanges on a case-by-case basis. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value. We accept order cancellations as long as we haven’t shipped out the order.
