Jade and Pearl Pendant

Fine jade and pearl pendant accented set in 18k.

The celadon jade is the color of old jade cabochons, a soft green that is the sage green of today.

Vintage jade cabochons – perhaps their eponymous color – steer itself towards pearl pairings.

Even a bright green favoured jade will not do as good in this sense, for the organic beauty of jade and pearl is a matter of sublimation.

Both become finer through millegrain, the tiniest possible, little else is needed.

Do you have an old jade cabochon? Does it have a lovely dome?

That could be all.

This pendant was handmade to bring back what we imagine could be made a century ago, though not in these parts.

The pendant’s Victorian long bail will allow more than a gold chain, and more than three dainty pearl necklaces at once!

The pendant measures 2cm tall and just under 3cm including the bail.
