24k Braided Twist Band Ring
24k solid gold twist ring made in the tradition of Viking rings.
The twist and braid styles of rings were made very soulfully throughout Viking history. Some were Romanized, some became lost.
Many are just plain beautiful to look at, in pictures, but never available for sale.
This Classical Wreath Twist is one such lost ring; we looked at various museum versions so much we decided to make one available.
It is not difficult to make a twist ring, but it is a challenge to make this ring both robust and surpass museum predecessors.
The bands in this ring thicken at the centre, hand-braided as if gold was easy to braid.
The ring is solid and feels solid, suitable for one looking for a ring or band whose memorable beauty is striking from its archetypal form.
This ring will wear with any jewelry, man or woman.
This ring surprises anyone looking at it, every time.
The thickness of such a ring will vary according to your ring size; we have experience to work its form with care.
A 24k solid gold ring is a lot of controlled work to build by hand, with the dense AND graduated twist this control must be phenomenal to get the restrained outcome.
How else do you circle this ring without leaving a joint mark? (All actual Viking rings are trimmed off at the joint.)
While it is possible to cast similar style rings from a mould, the outcome will not be true to the soulful ring in the photos.
Actually it would be impossible to, if you consider the inside of the ring to be part of its beauty.
If it was possible to cast this ring, we would not offer it here, as it would not have sustained the longing into making.
At its smallest size (US 5), this ring will weigh at least 12 grams.
