Dog Tooth Pendant

Fine dog tooth pendant set in 18k.

The large tooth is encased in a rose gold ‘bud’.

At 4cm long, as with large canine teeth, almost half is roughened material.

This ‘root’ we wrapped under gold, the semi-bulbous ‘bud’ roughened too, while the back is left opened, tooth seen.

The tooth is slipped into its case, that is the way of its fabrication, to bring to the bony material some dimensionality when turned into a fidgety charm.

It is hard to make this design come alive in a smaller tooth, but given this one’s great size, the traditional tooth charm becomes a rather visible companion.

The cut-down deep millegrain is seldom seen in ordinary jewelry, but not out-of-place for the memory of a beloved dog.

With a larger bail to wear with cord or chain, long or short.

The pendant is 4.5cm tall and 1.5cm wide.
