SIJS stud earrings set with diamonds in 22k gold.
On each stud, it is “the arrangement of three diamonds in a clover, with a fold-over of gold”.
And it is this arrangement that gives us a stalk of flower.
Rather than simulate a real flower, we attempt realism, by working the gold roughly and freely.
From petal to stalk, the idea is to harness the beauty of ruggedness, parts unplanned, and leaving some parts necessarily unfinished.
The objective is to use the most common of gems ie. diamonds, in only the fewest strokes of ‘design’, to furnish a memorable yet casual pair of diamond studs.
We wanted to avoid typical bezel or prong settings. Our solution is to use gold to ‘blanket’ the stones. Before this sheath of gold, the diamonds are raised high. As they say, it is the gap (space) that does all the work.
Needless to say, the stalks look as lovely off the ears as on.
And the flowers look as fine worn with yellow or white gold jewellery, as with colors or monotone.
